Sartell Girls Basketball Falls in State Semifinals

The Sartell-St. Stephen girls basketball team lost 69-47 to Benilde-St. Margaret's in the Class 3A state tournament semifinals at Target Center Thursday afternoon.  Sartell led 12-5 before Benilde went on a 14-1 run to take the lead that they would not give up.  Haley Guetter led Sartell with 17 points and Andrea Whitney added 16 points for the Sabres.  Sartell will play for 3rd place against DeLaSalle at 2pm Saturday afternoon at Concordia-St. Paul.  The Sabres are 24-6 on the season.  The top-seeded Islanders from DeLaSalle lost to Hill Murray 61-48 Thursday afternoon.
