Twins' Nathan Flying to Minnesota With Arm Trouble

Twins' closer Joe Nathan is flying back to Minnesota to get an MRI and CT span on his surgically repaired right elbow and there is currently no timetable for his return.  The 35-year old Nathan retired just 1 batter Saturday against Boston before leaving with tightness in the elbow.  Nathan complained on his elbow being stiff and sore Sunday morning.  Team doctors determined that Nathan will undergo further tests on the elbow to determine the severity of the injury.  The Twins on the field had a split squad with half the team beating the Yankees 11-0 and the other half losing to Pittsburgh 15-5.  Juan Portes hit 2 homeruns and drove in 6 runs for the Twins against New York and Justin Morneau hit his first spring homerun against the Pirates.  Minnesota will play Baltimore today at 12:05pm (Central Time).  The Twins also signed pitcher Nick Blackburn to a 4-year contract extension.
