1390 The Fan Sports News


The Twins beat the Oakland A's 12-2 Friday night to even the series at a game apiece.  Minnesota knocked out 20 hits compared to 6 for Oakland.  Joe Mauer led Minnesota's offense with a 5-6 day and 4 RBIs.  Justin Morneau added a 4-5 game with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI and Alexi Casilla was 3-5 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Kevin Slowey threw 5 innings with 6 hits and 2 earned runs allowed and 10 strikeouts to get the win and improve to 11-8.  Minnesota is now just 1/2 game back of the White Sox for first place in the American League Central.  Chicago lost 8-0 at Boston Friday night.  The Twins play at Oakland again tonight at 8:05 pregame on WJON at 7:30.
