The Twins expect to get starting 2nd baseman Alexi Casilla back from the disabled list as early as Thursday when the team leaves on a 14-game road trip to Anaheim. Casilla is out with a torn ligament in his right thumb. Casilla took batting practice with the Twins Sunday and will report to the Twins facility in Fort Myers today. He'll face some live pitching over the next 3 days on a rehab assignment before rejoining the Twins later this week. Manager Ron Gardenhire says he'll use Nick Punto and Adam Everett at shortstop when Casilla returns. Casilla will take over the 2nd base job. Punto has been playing at 2nd base in Casilla's absence.
