The Twins pounded former Twin, Carlos Silva and the Mariners to win 9-2 Friday night at the Metrodome.  Minnesota took a 2-0 lead in the first inning and added 7 runs in the 4th inning to put the game out of reach.  Jason Kubel led the Twins going 3-4 with a 2-run homerun and 3 RBIs and Nick Punto went 2-5 with 2 RBIs.  Francisco Liriano threw 7 innings with 2 runs allowed to get the win and improve to 3-3.  The Twins' win coupled with the White Sox 6-4 loss at Oakland puts the Twins and White Sox in a tie for first place in the American League Central.  Minnesota will host Seattle again today at 2:55, pregame on WJON at 2:20.  Righthander Scott Baker (7-3) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and lefthander Ryan Rowland-Smith (2-1) toes the rubber for the Mariners.
