1390 The Fan Sports News


The White Sox downed the Twins and Livan Hernandez Wednesday night 8-3 at the Metrodome.  Carlos Quentin hit a homerun and drove in 4 runs for Chicago.  Livan Hernandez pitched just 4 innings with 9 hits and 5 earned runs allowed to take the loss and drop to 10-8.  Hernandez' ERA swells to 5.48.  Jason Kubel and Denard Span were each 2-4 with a run scored for the Twins and Justin Morneau was 1-3 with a run scored and an RBI.  The Twins fall to 59-48 and are now 1 1/2 games back of the White Sox for first place in the American League Central.  Minnesota and Chicago will close down the 4-game series tonight at the Metrodome at 7:10, pregame on WJON at 6:40.  Righthander Scott Baker (7-3) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and lefthander John Danks (8-4) toes the rubber for the White Sox.
