1390 The Fan Sports News


The Twins closed the series with the Brewers with a 5-0 shutout win Sunday afternoon.  Kevin Slowey threw a complete game 3-hit shutout to get the win and improve to 5-6.  Alexi Casilla went 2-4 with an RBI and Delmon Young hit a 2-run homerun for the Twins.  Minnesota won 2 of 3 from the Brewers in the weekend series.  The Twins improve to 45-37 but remain 1 1/2 games back of the White Sox for first place in the American League Central.  The Twins will begin a 3-game series at the Dome against Detroit tonight at 7:10, pregame on WJON at 6:40.  Lefthander Glen Perkins (4-2) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Armando Galarraga (7-2) toes the rubber for the Tigers.  Detroit has won 17 of their last 21 and is just 3 1/2 games back of the Twins for 2nd place in the AL Central.
